The club will prioritise the acquisition of a new wide forward, full-back, goalkeeper, and right-sided centre-back for Eddie Howe’s first-team roster.

This comes after Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson were permitted to depart the club on June 30th for a total of £65 million.

These sales have alleviated the club’s concerns about profit and sustainability breaches, as the sales of academy players are recorded as pure profit on the balance sheets.

PSR in the Premier League prohibits clubs from incurring losses of more than £105 million over a three-year period, with the 30 June deadline critical to keeping the books balanced.

According to reports, Newcastle anticipated a double-digit points deduction and a £50 million+ loss before rushing through player transactions on 29 June.

Newcastle now has the financial room to invest heavily on their squad after selling Anderson and Minteh before the new season began on July 1.

The owners intend to commit a £100 million transfer budget to bolster the squad in crucial areas following a dismal season that saw them lose out on European competition.

After the team experienced many injuries at centre-back last season, including cruciate ligament concerns for Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, Howe is prioritising the acquisition of a new defender.

In June, Football Insider reported that an offer was made for AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori, but the player declined the transfer.

Meanwhile, a new wide forward has gone to the top of the club’s priority list, following interest in Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron, as well as the loss of Minteh.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle’s wide forward possibilities include Jarrod Bowen and Crysenico Summerville.

West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Callum Wilson.
