In the past week, the Fins have faced significant ups and downs. Here are some thoughts of how their week 9 would be.

The Fins’ offensive line this season has been a welcome surprise. The Real Announcer Though it’s kind of true, I wouldn’t have anticipated hearing that phrase before the season began.

And the Dolphins’ ability to defy expectations against the Buffalo Bills wasn’t limited to their offensive line.
For two weeks in a row, the Dolphins gave the impression of being a team worth following throughout the season, one that could win more games than it lost.

Heading into 2024, we all had that hope, and if we’re being honest, some fans were naively confident that’s what we’d see based on recent years. It’s now obvious that the Dolphins’ strong performance in the 2024 season has been an outlier.

This week, however, the offence showed up with downhill running, hard hitting aggression (though I winced into a coma when Tua dove head first on his 4th down conversion run), solid playcalling with a few downfield plays thrown in when opportunities arose, and, dare I say it, some pretty decent blocking all around.

They scored 27 points, with Tua going 25/28 (89%) for 231 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and only one sack. Mike McDaniel called a balanced game (31 carries to 28 pass attempts), and seven different receivers caught passes despite playing away against the division favourite.

So far, things seem to be going well.
