Eddie Howe’s team is looking for a goalkeeper to fill in for Nick Pope, who is injured. The Magpies believe Lunin can fill in for the England international, who is expected to be out for three to four months.

Lunin would welcome the opportunity to play in the Premier League and prove himself after only having limited opportunities with the Spanish giants.

In Pope’s absence, Newcastle is currently using Martin Dubravka.

According to recent media reports, the Premier League club will be active in the January transfer window in order to turn around their season after a string of poor results.

Newcastle’s goalkeeping department is in desperate need of attention, and Lunin is the ideal candidate to fill that position. Howe’s transfer window plans also include a striker.

A move for Lunin would benefit all parties involved, with Newcastle receiving a talented player and Lunin receiving the necessary opportunities to prove himself at the highest level.

The Ukrainian international is under contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2025. The La Liga leaders may look to sell him soon in order to avoid losing him for free.
