The 2025 Abu Dhabi Open will see several talented WTA stars travel to the United Arab Emirates for one of the newer additions to the calendar, which is scheduled to run from February 3-8, 2025.

A WTA 500 event, the Abu Dhabi Open is a hardcourt tournament that features a 32-player singles field and a 16-team doubles draw. Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina won the title at last year’s edition, and the Kazakh star will be returning to defend her title.

Former World No.2 Paula Badosa would like to hit the ground running after her impressive performance at the 2025 Australian Open, as the Spaniard has been announced as one of the top seeds in Abu Dhabi. Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez will also be competing at the event.

Controversial American tennis star Danielle Collins is another top-ranked player set to compete at the Abu Dhabi Open. Joining her is compatriot Amanda Anisimova, who has looked impressive in her return to the WTA tour following a long bout with injury.

The 2025 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, scheduled from February 1 to 8 at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City, boasts its most impressive lineup to date, featuring seven of the world’s top 20 WTA players.

Elena Rybakina: The defending champion from Kazakhstan, currently ranked world No. 6, returns to defend her title.

Daria Kasatkina: Ranked ninth globally, the Russian seeks to improve upon her runner-up finish from the previous year.

Belinda Bencic: The Swiss Olympic Gold Medalist and 2023 champion makes her comeback after maternity leave.

Ons Jabeur: Tunisia’s three-time Grand Slam finalist returns after a shoulder injury, aiming to captivate local fans with her performance.

Paula Badosa: The former world No. 2 from Spain, currently ranked 12th, is set for her tournament debut after previous withdrawals due to health issues.

Beatriz Haddad Maia: The Brazilian, ranked 17th, aims to surpass her semi-final finishes from the past two editions.

Emma Navarro: The American world No. 8, known for her powerful game, adds significant strength to the competition.

Additionally, the tournament has extended wildcards to notable players such as Belinda Bencic, Caroline Garcia, Ashlyn Krueger, Wakana Sonobe, and Markéta Vondroušová, further enhancing the event’s competitive depth.

While the official entry list does not currently include Leylah Fernandez, the young Canadian star, fans remain hopeful for her participation, either through a wildcard entry or successful qualification rounds.
