Max reveals why George Russell keeps snubbing his invites out

Max Verstappen and George Russell have made an effort to set up get-togethers off the racetrack, but it has been challenging to locate the Mercedes driver.

Mercedes AceMax Verstappen, George Russell’s opponent in Formula 1, has counseled him to back off on his rigorous training schedule so that he has more time for socializing with other drivers.

According to the Express, the three-time world champion jokingly suggested that the Englishman’s hectic schedule would prevent him from attending friendly get-togethers.

Even though there is intense competition on the track, it’s not unusual for F1 drivers from various teams to socialize outside of it. But it appears that Russell and Verstappen have had trouble coordinating their schedules to spend some time together.

Not only is Verstappen observing Russell’s dedication to fitness, but McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have also offered their thoughts.

“I’ve seen George post [online] a few times when he is in the gym,” Piastri said in a Canal+ discussion, to which Norris retorted with a sardonic, “George is the guy who goes to the gym and makes sure he posts on Instagram ‘Look I’m in the gym.'”

Verstappen continued the good-natured humor by saying, “We have invited him many times to padel, but sometimes his training schedule didn’t allow him to go to padel.” Russell’s commitment to maintaining his fitness is evident on social media, but Norris’s remarks raise the possibility that he may be exaggerating his online workouts.

By sharing a photo of himself posing with his hands on his hips with Alex Albon from Williams amusingly hanging from rings in the backdrop, the British actor recently gave fans a peek into his personal life. Russell humorously captioned the picture, displaying his fun side: “Can’t get away from this guy…”

Russell has trained and worked really hard for hours, but his efforts haven’t resulted in a podium finish this season. His two fifth-place finishes in Monaco and Bahrain, which put him eighth in the driver’s standings, have been his best results.

As the season draws closer to the halfway point, teammate Lewis Hamilton behind Russell by 12 points and one spot. Due to their dismal performance, Silver Arrows are now in fourth place among constructors; McLaren is proving to be a formidable rival for the top spots this year.

Even after placing sixth in Monte Carlo, his lowest finish of the season, Verstappen is still unbeatable in every way. Verstappen leads Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by 31 points after winning five of the eight races so far this season. Leclerc ended his nearly two-year winless streak in Monaco.

Russell would benefit from altering his training regimen as he approaches a comparable two-year mark without a victory. He might spend some time away from the weight room practicing padel with Verstappen.
