The field for this summer’s Bayview Hotel Armoy Road Races is filled with celebrities, including Senior TT winner Davey Todd.

The Saltburn native wrapped up an incredible week by winning his first-ever Isle of Man TT in the Superstock race earlier this month. He then took home the coveted silverware in the blue riband Senior finale aboard the Milwaukee BMW.

Todd is announced as one of the entries for Northern Ireland’s TAS Racing squad in the Co Antrim meeting, which takes place on July 26–27. Todd won the feature “Race of Legends” at Armoy in 2022.

Yesterday was the formal opening of the 2024 race, which was attended by racers Dominic Herbertson, Jeremy McWilliams, Ryan Whitehall, and Neil Kernohan at the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae.

Homegrown hero Michael Dunlop missed the competition in 2022 but made a spectacular comeback the previous year, winning the main race for a record ten times as part of an incredible five-timer.

At the TT, the Ballymoney man created history by winning a quadruple and going on to become the most successful rider in island history with 29 triumphs.

Dunlop’s confirmed appearance in Armoy next month is still pending.

In addition to Todd, Jamie Coward, a Yorkshireman, is entered on the KTS Racing vehicles, which include the Stanley Stewart Triumph 765.

Last year, Coward was ruled out due to an accident he had in a bicycle just before the meeting.

Along with Mike Browne, who will ride the IN Competition Aprilia, and Michael Sweeney, two other southern Irishmen, Derek Sheils is scheduled to start on the grid on the Roadhouse Macau BMW.

Herbertson, who recently finished on the podium for the first time at the TT in the inaugural Supertwin race, is leading the way for the Ulster team Burrows Engineering/RK Racing.

As one of the most prominent events on the Irish road racing calendar, the Armoy Road Races are something Herbertson looks forward to every year.

This year, I’ll be participating in the Open, Superport, and Race of Legends classes while riding for Burrows Engineering/RK Racing.

“The competition will be extremely tough if the past few years are any indication, but I’m up for the challenge and will be doing everything in my power to be standing on a podium or two.”
