Orlando Pirates fan favorite exits after six years
The Orlando Pirates have announced the departure of fan favourite winger Vincent Pule. The 32-year-old will depart the club after six years.
Orlando Pirates fan favorite Vincent Pule has departed the club after six years with the Buccaneers.
Last season, the 32-year-old winger appeared in just over 10 appearances for the Soweto Giants. Pirates confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that they had parted ways with the former Bidvest Wits player.
“After six amazing years, Vincent Pule is leaving the Orlando Pirates Football Club. The 32-year-old joined the Mighty Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits in 2018 and instantly made an impression, according to a club release.

Vincent played almost 140 matches for the Soweto Giants and contributed 35 goals and assists, leaving a lasting legacy for the team.
On behalf of the entire Orlando Pirates family, we would like to express our gratitude to Vincent for his contributions to this football club. A wonderful athlete who provided us with incredible moments on the field while also demonstrating the traits of a model professional away from it.
Pule was a fan favourite when playing with the Orlando Pirates. His playing time has been decreased since Jose Riveiro came over, and he was linked with leaving the club last year before signing a new one-year contract. In January, the winger was linked with a transfer to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
“His departure from Pirates is finalized. He could have departed in January or possibly earlier, but there were other reasons why the move was halted. According to a source, Sundowns and SuperSport were among the teams interested in signing him.
