Newcastle expected to accept a £25m offer for their newly acquired player

According to speculations, Newcastle United would be open to letting Yankuba Minteh go this summer for a cool £25 million.

Minteh was only loaned to Dutch powerhouse Feyenoord after joining the Magpies from Danish side OB last summer.

The 19-year-old had a successful season in the Netherlands, helping the Rotterdam team win the KNVB Cup and place second in the Eredivisie with 11 goals (including one in the Champions League) and six assists in all competitions.

In April, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe stated of Minteh, “I have been keeping a very close eye on him” (via ChronicleLive). “I think he has done really well and attacked the challenge of going alone, new league, new team-mates, and has played in the Champions League,” Howe continued.

“I think he did a great job this year, and he should be proud of what he accomplished.”

The adolescent doesn’t seem to have done enough, though, to convince Howe that he can develop into a vital member of the Magpies.

Among the English teams reportedly interested in signing Minteh are Everton and Liverpool, the latter of which is currently led by Arne Slot, his manager at Feyenoord.

Shall Minteh vacate St. James’ Park?

Not just the two massive Merseyside teams are believed to be pursuing Minteh.

Newcastle would be open to accepting a £25 million bid for the Gambia international this summer, according to a Football Insider report. The Magpies are believed to be in a vulnerable situation with regard to Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.

It’s believed that the price tag has made Italian and German clubs take notice. Newcastle, for example, is willing to see Minteh go if it means they can continue to pay for players like Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak after this summer.
