Newcastle in the lead to sign the best teammate of Guimaraes

Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa have all shown interest in the attacking midfield player, according to Brazilian publication Globo Esporte.

Pereira is determined to depart from Fulham come summertime.

Globo reports that Fulham is reportedly looking to pay between £30 and £35 million for him, thus his price will be high.

The former Manchester United star has revived his Premier League career after joining the Cottagers in the summer of 2022 for a reputed fee of over £10 million.

The midfielder was called up to the Brazil national squad prior to this month’s Copa America, beating out players like Joelinton and Casemiro for a slot.

Group D will see them play Costa Rice, Colombia, and Paraguay.

Signing Pereira does not make a lot of sense for Newcastle and Eddie Howe because he plays in a position that the Magpies are not currently attempting to reinforce.

In August, Sandro Tonali is expected to return from his ban, giving Newcastle one more midfield option.

Newcastle ought to concentrate on other roles.

Newcastle United has other areas to bolster in the summer, so signing Pereira shouldn’t be their top priority.

The Magpies are hoping to add new central defenders this summer in response to their defenders’ injuries.

Before the new season begins, Howe hopes to add a goalie to his roster in addition to defensive players.

Only if they lose a midfield player would a deal for Pereira make sense, and that could happen given that Bruno Guimaraes is being pursued by Manchester City and Arsenal.
