Newcastle planning £100m transfer deal after Paul Mitchell choice

Newcastle United are preparing a £100 million summer shopping binge after installing Paul Mitchell as their sporting director.

The Magpies moved quickly to replace the departing Dan Ashworth, who joined Manchester United after just over two years at St James’ Park.

Mitchell was most recently the manager of French club AS Monaco, but he has also worked at Tottenham and Southampton, where he oversaw the signings of Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, and Sadio Mane.

Newcastle are one of several clubs currently battling Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and despite having already raised significant funds for Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson, who have joined Brighton and Nottingham Forest, respectively, they face the prospect of losing more players.

Bruno Guimaraes, one of the club’s top stars, is still seriously connected with leaving St. James’ Park, alongside Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Newcastle plans a £100 million summer expenditure.

Naturally, Eddie Howe will be desperate to avoid losing any more crucial players from his side.

Regardless, he will have a significant budget for incoming players in the summer transfer market. According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are freeing up £100 million.

Now that Mitchell has taken on his new role, Howe is said to be looking for a new right-footed attacker and a left-footed center-back.
