Two recruits resign from Alabama football’s 2025 class.
On Wednesday, Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class lost two pledges. Both linebacker Miles Johnson and athlete Zymear Smith have declared that they are renewing their recruitments.
Smith is a four-star prospect based on the 247Sports composite rankings. Johnson is rated as three stars.
Smith, who plays high school football at North Caroline in Maryland, committed to Alabama in March but just paid an official visit to Maryland. The 247 composite ranks him as the class’s No. 12 athlete.
T.R. Miller in Brewton is where Johnson plays high school basketball. He committed to Alabama in October, when Nick Saban was still the Crimson Tide’s head coach before Kalen DeBoer took over the position.
Johnson is ranked 51st among linebackers in the 2025 class by the 247 Composite. He has other offers from Florida, Liberty, and Mississippi State.
Alabama received two commitments earlier in the day on Wednesday. Justin Hill, a four-star recruit from Ohio, revealed his commitment first, with Alabama beating out Ohio State, Oregon, and Southern California.
Later, kicker Peter Notaro confirmed his commitment as well. Kohl’s Professional Camps rated him as the fourth-best kicker in the 2025 class.
Despite the decommitments, Alabama’s class remains ranked second nationwide according to the 247 composite. The Crimson Tide trails Ohio State.
