I am incredibly appreciative of the love and support I have had during my career as I pause to think back on my journey. I’ve been welcomed into a community that embodies zeal, tenacity, and a profound love for hockey ever since I joined the New York Islanders.
I want to express my gratitude to the Islanders organisation for supporting me and allowing me to advance both as a player and as a person. Your persistent dedication to excellence and your confidence in my abilities, from the coaching staff to the front office, have greatly influenced the course of my career. The cornerstone of everything I’ve accomplished in this jersey has been the culture you’ve created—one of diligence, cooperation, and pride.
To my teammates, you are my family, not simply my coworkers. We have overcome obstacles, celebrated successes, and created lifelong memories together. We have a very unique camaraderie both on and off the ice, and I am privileged to skate with such a gifted and committed bunch of people.
To the supporters, you are this team’s lifeblood. I will never take for granted the clamour of UBS Arena on game evenings, and your enthusiasm and energy are unparalleled. Through every goal, every help, and every second in between, you have been there for me. Every time I take the ice, your confidence in me and this team motivates me to give it my all.
I appreciate you fostering an atmosphere that has enabled me to develop, flourish, and realise my dreams. Wearing this jersey and representing this community makes me proud. Many more memories together are ahead of us.
