All eyes are on the WNBA playoff push with two weeks remaining in the 2024 regular season.
But the most anticipated draft class in league history also continues to draw attention. Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 draft pick in April, led the Indiana Fever back to the postseason for the first time since 2016. And Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso hope to lead the Chicago Sky to the playoffs as well.
Clark and Reese have already etched their names into the record books this season. Clark set the WNBA single-game record with 19 assists, and she is the first rookie in league history to tally a triple-double. Reese set a WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles (15).

Last time out: With 14 points (second most on the team), Cardoso had another strong offensive game for the Sky, recording double figures for the seventh time in the team’s nine games since returning from the Olympic break. She shot efficiently (5-for-6 from the floor) while also compiling 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. She and Reese found success in the third quarter in particular, combining for 11 of the team’s 20 points.
What we learned: Foul trouble caught up with Cardoso — she was limited to just 24 minutes and fouled out toward the end of the fourth quarter, with the Aces up 14. It was the fourth game in the second half in which she notched at least five fouls (and second in which she fouled out). Chicago has bigger fish to fry on both ends of the floor when it comes to issues it needs to clean up, but Cardoso’s ability to stay available in the Sky’s seven remaining games is nonetheless critical if they want to secure a playoff spot. Of note: Her minus-5 plus/minus Tuesday was best of all the Chicago starters.
