Las Vegas -The night of October 25, 2022 was unusual for Cratepson. The former Warriors shooting guard, in his 12th NBA season, was ejected for the first time in the third quarter of what was ultimately a 29-point loss to the Phoenix Suns.
After returning to the desert sideline during a timeout, Thompson came face-to-face with Suns star shooting guard Devin Booker. Both players received two technical faults, but an angry Clay continued to air his frustration. Ed Malloy had had enough. The officials gave Thompson a second technical and he finished the night with just two points on 1-of-8 shooting. Booker, who is six and a half years younger than Thompson, finished with a game-high 34 points on 10-of-19 shooting, but one night doesn’t tell the whole story. There’s a longstanding mutual respect between Booker and Thompson, and Booker, a four-time NBA All-Star with the Suns and now a member of the men’s basketball team, is leaning toward Thompson, who has worn colors other than blue and Warriors gold since signing a three-year, $50 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent this offseason.
“I think it’s going to be a bit of an adjustment,” Booker said Saturday at UNLV after Team USA’s first day of training camp. “He is one of the people he can’t imagine outside the Mikey he was called.”
Last season, Marvelix on the way to the NBA Final completed one win in front of the Boker San. MAVS won 50 games and finished as Seeds No. 5 in the western part, but Phoenix won 49 victory, but was covered by Minnesot Timberwolves in the first round of Play -offf. Booker has played Thompson 19 times in his first nine years in the NBA. The Warriors have won more games than they have lost, though they lost two of three games to Phoenix last season. Thompson and the Warriors beat Booker in 12 of those 19 games, and the junior sharpshooter dominated the senior in 10 of those games.
Their fights are far from over. The Suns and Mavs met three times last season, with the West champions winning each time. Booker may have to rub his eyes to make sure he sees clearly when he looks across the court for the first time and sees Thompson during their meeting in Dallas. Booker is also looking forward to the next stage of the competition.
“It’s a new opportunity for him,” Booker said. “I am convinced that he will use it completely. I am looking forward to the opportunity to match another T -shirt, which is the person I have been talking for a long time.
Thompson left the court for his first emissions and emphasized his left ring. Thompson regrets holding up four fingers that night to honor his four championship rings with the Warriors, while Booker is still in pursuit of his first title. To get there, the road starts with Dallas -Pay attention to another date to correct Thompson and horn.
